    well thanks I used that command it's been too long to remember.
    i tried to search for it in the repository but without success

    Although I had to cp /etc/mtools.conf to ~/.mtoolsrc, because it did not exist there.

    This can be done much nicer using fatattr:
    http://dev.man-online.org/man1/fatattr/

    At least for Debian systems there is a package available.
